About Dr. Harris

Eric Harris, MD, board-certified orthopaedic spine surgeon

I'm Eric Harris, MD, a board-certified orthopaedic spine surgeon based in Laramie, Wyoming. I completed my orthopaedic spine surgery fellowship at the Rothman Institute at Thomas Jefferson University, and I served as Director of the Orthopedic Spine Surgery Service at Naval Medical Center San Diego. I've practiced medicine for 27 years and provided expert opinions for 14.

My work is the analysis of orthopedic and spine injuries: record review, expert reports, future-care outlines, Independent Medical Exams, and testimony. I take engagements from plaintiff and defense counsel with equal care. The medicine doesn't change with the side of the aisle, and neither does my opinion.

What attorneys rely on me for is clarity. A spine injury involves anatomy, imaging, mechanism, and timeline, and a jury has to follow all of it to reach a sound decision. I explain it plainly, ground every conclusion in the evidence, and stay inside what the record supports.

"I trace injuries to their source, and teach juries what the evidence means."

On the name

Headwaters is where a river begins. In a case, that beginning is the clarity you need to understand the orthopedic care an injury actually calls for. Trace the injury back to its source, and everything downstream gets easier to argue and easier to decide.
